Norah first Cochlear Implant Activation video

This is some of the video we took of Norah’s CI activation, she is doing so good just three days after activation she responded to the eeeeeee and the shshshshsssshhhh sound that she has never responded to before. Wile I was watching this video after editing it she was in the kitchen not able to see the computer screen and ever time the beeps would play on the video she would put her Listen sign up and I didn’t have the sound up either this is a really good sign for our Norah. It will be exciting next week when we get her hearing tested to see what level she is at.

Amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this. It must have been incredibly emotional for you. I was crying and I don't even know you (except from your blog and the CCAI WCP yahoo group). Congrats again!

Glen and Lori,

I have followed your journey from pre-referral through referral to travel and home. I am so excited for you and Norah! the cochlear implant is an amazing piece of technology! You are changing her world! I can't wait to check in and see her progress. This summer I was able to visit two sister who both have bilateral implants. They are two of the children that I have been blessed to work with and they are doing so well. You will be amazed!

I don't have sound on my pc right now so I can't hear what you guys are saying but seeing her face light up and her putting listen up by the ear? Amazing!! Oh, I so happy for Norah and you guys are just awesome!! I remember when you were so disappointed that your agency didn't accept you at first into the wc program...I'm so glad they didn't otherwise you wouldn't have this little bundle of joy!!

Keep working hard Norah!! We are all so proud of you!

Hugs,
Carla

Awesome! She looks like she is doing so well! She really responds so reliably. I am betting that she will continue to be very easy to map, and as a consequence, will hear well and progress fast from the get-go.

I also want to add that I love watching this both because it brings back memories of my son's activation (at age 4) and because I'm in school now for an Au.D. hoping to be a CI audiologist.

Thanks for sharing.
